Abortion

Abortion is a term cleverly designed to misinform and misrepresent a heinous criminal act against women and unborn children. Abortion is disguised by liberal politicians, liberal news media, and organizations such as the ACLU and ACORN as a “choice” or no big deal. In reality, it is murder – the slaughter of God’s creation.  Abortion clinics are nothing more than slaughter houses of the unborn – places where the poor and often ignorant young mothers (in most cases Black/African American) are taken advantage of emotionally and physically. It is a wrenching experience that will follow them for all of their lives.
Man was created by God in His own image. He does not make mistakes. The murder by abortion of His creation results for the would-be mother in a life where personal peace seems always out of reach. God is not pleased with the individuals who would perform such an act nor with the Nation and society that would condone such. God has said that He judges our sin and He keeps his Word.

Our Responsibility

At the 2010 Annual Celebration for the March for Life organization in Washington, D.C., I noted and was greatly disturbed by the absence of many political and religious organizations. Present were Republican representatives – men and women, doctors, lawyers, teachers, businessmen, and religious and civic leaders. They spoke out boldly against the Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade allowing the murder of unborn children.

During two hours of C-SPAN coverage of this event, I never saw anyone from the Democratic Party, Green Party, or Independent Party. I saw one minister from the African Methodist Episcopal Church but no one from the National Baptist Convention or any other Black/African American denominational group. It is quite disturbing that the Black/African American religious community is so absent from this debate. It is clear from His Word that God is on the side of life and it should be our commitment to be active petitioning our government and society for the right to life.

As I travel across the Nation I have witnessed many instances of picketing in front of the slaughterhouses that call themselves ‘women’s clinics’ and am always struck by the fact that most of those on the picket lines are Caucasian. I seldom see a Black/African American person among them.  There is no one crying out from the black community – not Jesse Jackson or Creflo Dollar or Oprah Winfrey or Al Sharpton or Colin Powell – to stop the crime of abortion that is taking the lives of mostly Black children. Sadly, Black/African American churches, lodges, and fraternities are just as silent. That includes our current representative from the Second Congressional District of Mississippi.

Conclusion

Our nation must join together – black and white – in an outcry against abortion. We must seek to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision and seek the mercy of God for our past. As your President and as a private citizen, I will be actively involved in leading that cry.

Fellow Americans, the litmus test for any moral society is the degree to which it is a reflection of God. When a nation chooses immorality, it destroys itself.
